Hoisin Glazed Salmon and Broccoli in Garlic Sauce

Six is... when some real scary things start to happen to your body, it’s around then that your teeth start coming a-loose in your mouth.... At first you think it’s kind of funny, but the tooth keeps getting looser and looser and one day, in the middle of pushing the tooth back and forth and squinching your eyes shut, you pull it clean out.... You tell some adult about what’s happening but all they do is say it’s normal. You can't be too sure, though, ’cause it shakes you up a whole lot more than grown folks think it does when perfectly good parts of your body commence to loosening up and falling off of you.
Unless you’re as stupid as a lamppost you’ve got to wonder what’s coming off next, your arm? Your leg? Your neck? Every morning when you wake up it seems a lot of your parts aren’t stuck on as good as they used to be.

Christopher Paul Curtis, Bud, Not Buddy

This weekend was a long weekend here in BC. We celebrated Family Day today! We actually took advantage of every day and had a family weekend!

On Saturday we went to the indoor play cafe. I still wasn't feeling 100% and it was kinda rainy, we still managed to have FUN though :)

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day so we went adventuring! We went and found fun parks from here to Kelowna and we did a bit of geocaching too :)

Today I took the girls shopping and then Ninja took HBear to Strange Magic at the theater :)

On the way to the grocery store HBear's 1st tooth finally wiggled out!!!! My baby is growing up so fast! I made this certificate using Smilebox. We will put it with her tooth fairy pillow and $6.00 tonight!

For dinner tonight we did rice, salmon and broccoli. This was really good! I even liked the salmon and HBear had seconds of the broccoli! WINNER :)

Broccoli in Garlic Sauce
Adapted from The Garden Grazer

1 bunch broccoli florets
3 garlic cloves, pressed
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1 tablespoons cornstarch

In a bowl, add garlic, soy sauce, broth, and cornstarch. Whisk to combine.

In a large skillet over med-high, add sesame oil and heat for a minute.

Carefully add broccoli florets. Cook for about 4 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning.

Reduce heat to med-low, then and add garlic sauce. Stir well to coat.

Cook for about 3 minutes. Sauce will thicken and absorb into the broccoli.
